Lisa Lestander was born in Umeå, northern Sweden. Fascinated by the local folk singing tradition from an early age lead to her collecting songs from the older generations who carried this oral tradition. This was followed by studies in Folk Music at the Royal Music Academy in Stockholm. Lisa is also member in the Swedish Folk Music a capella quartet Kraja with whom she has toured the world for 20 years. In later years she also specifies in mantra singing, in duo together with Jon Sousa.\n\n"It is not a question of repeating spiritually what others have done before us, for our adventure begins beyond that.
