Modem is a self-recorded compilation of musings and meanderings, originating in Leeds but now treading the streets of London, UK. \n\nTaking formation in 2019, Easy Stories represented a first foray into the world of self recorded music and was quickly followed up by their first album, Feeling Free in the 21st Century , a conceptual album taking influences from David Bowie , Public Service Broadcasting , and Sonic Youth . \n\n"There’s a pretty wide swathe of sounds across the record, from the blissed-out floating sensations on 'Heartbeat in the City ' to the more fuzz-edged and driving likes of 'Walking Through the Unknown’”- Richer Unsigned.\n\nEarly 2021 then saw the release of twin singles I Hear Your Voice , and Above The Clouds.\n\n"An other-worldly experience that takes on elements of post punk and alt rock. Small guitar parts work together to create an unsettling feeling that breaks out into unfragmented choruses" - Lucy Bower, God Bless The Bands\n\nParks. saw the second attempt at a full length release from modem, released in the twilight of summer 2021, evoking influences such as American Football , Duster , Death Cab for Cutie , and Slaughter Beach, Dog.\n\nThe next 2.5 years saw a reduced presence from modem, with the exception of Dreadnought. in 2023 which experimented with avant-garde and instrumental soundscapes, such as The Locomotives of History.\n\n2024 represents a rejuvenated modem, with plans for both new music and their first ever live shows.
