Eric Lu won First Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2018, the first American to win the prestigious prize since Murray Perahia. The following year, he signed an exclusive contract with Warner Classics, and was a recipient of the Avery Fisher Grant in 2021. In October 2022, Eric made his debut with the Chicago Symphony and Riccardo Muti. \n
\nLu’s 22-23 season includes debuts with the London Symphony, Boston Symphony and Chicago Symphony Orchestras. He will also give recitals at Cologne Philharmonie, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and return to the Elbphilharmonie, Wigmore Hall, and Seoul Arts Center. \n
\nEric has already collaborated with the LA, Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Liverpool, and BBC Philharmonics, as well as the Seattle, Finnish Radio, Detroit, Lille, Singapore, and Shanghai Symphony Orchestras. He has worked with conductors Riccardo Muti, Mirga Gražinytè-Tyla, Ryan Bancroft, Vasily Petrenko, Thomas Dausgaard, Edward Gardner, Ruth Reinhardt, and Mark Elder. \n
\nHe has appeared in recital at the Concertgebouw, Elbphilharmonie, BOZAR Brussels, Philharmonie Luxembourg, 92nd St Y, and Fondation Louis Vuitton. He regularly returns to give recitals at Wigmore Hall, and the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall. 
\nIn 2020, Warner Classics released \nChopin 24 Preludes and Schumann Geistervariatonen. It was met with critical acclaim, described by BBC Music Magazine as ‘his playing is in a rare class - one that has a vacancy since Radu Lupu’s retirement’.
